In the early eighties Vigo became well known throughout Spain as the centre of a popular culture movement known as the "movida". Vigo is home to several groups that were to become successful on the Spanish circuit and further a field, like Siniestro Total, Golpes Bajos, Os Resentidos, Aerolíneas Federales and many more. Ever since then the city has had a great reputation for its nightlife and Vigo’s pubs, bars and discos set trends throughout Galicia.
