Stage III GR53: Puxeiros - A Madroa
- ACCESS: By road PO 2603 to Alto de Puxeiros, or up Subida a A Madroa road or Calle Areeiro

This route starts at Alto de Puxeiros and continues by road through a pine forest to A Becerreira. The trail goes on through more pine forest and a plantation of young trees (chestnuts, cherry trees, etc.) to Cotogrande Forest Park. The path starts to climb towards As Laxes (there is a reservoir to the left) and continues along the side of the Trade Fair Centre IFEVI. There is a picnic area very near the airport where we can see a recently restored mill.
A little further on we pass by the area of O Ameal, which is the source of the River Lagares, at a small lake. Turning to the left, the path goes up a paved road to the O Carballal Forest Park (with an area to rest). Slightly further on again, turn right and the path starts to climb towards O Vixiador Forest Park. Here there is a wonderful view of the bay and a picnic area with a bar, drinking fountains, barbeques, and so on.
Pass the café, turn right and continue a few metres and then turn left. There is a forest track that leads to Coto de Ferreira. Keep to the left and start going down as far as Candeán Cemetery. There are interesting archaeological remains here including passage graves.
Finally we reach A Madroa, where the only zoo in Galicia is located (Parque de las Ciencias). We can go up to admire the views of the bay or visit the many archaeological remains.
