EVENT: "Blogs gastronómicos: Del recetario a los gurús 2.0"

The event brought by the Council of Vigo in collaboration with Vigo Convention Bureau will take place on Tuesday, December 18.

This will be a space for reflection on gastronomic tourism and on the growing role of internet in search for destinations, restaurants, kitchen recipes, etc.

We will count with participation of biggest experts in the field. This event will focus on discovering the possibilities brought by internet and new 2.0 tools to the communicational development of gastronomy-related tourism destinations.

It will take place at 19:00 at the Auditorium of the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO), located at 54 Calle Principe. You can follow the meeting through the official twitter @BloggerTripVigo or a hashtag #vigoalive.

TXABER ALLUE

TXABER ALLUE - El Cocinero Fiel

 

Holds a History degree from the University of Salamanca, although his interest in the business world brought him to pursue further studies, such as obtaining a Master’s degree in Marketing and Communication (UIC) and the Executive MBA (IE). He founded two enterprises in the communications field and has worked as a manager in a third one. Currently, Txaber is a freelance consultant who offers advice to top managers, associated professor at the University of Tarragona and a consultant at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in the business management department.

His passion for the audiovisual world, technology and cuisine have transformed him into the "El Cocinero Fiel", a video blogger specializing in the gastronomy world. Each week he uploads all sorts of recipes, which are shared with the community through the blog, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.  

Recently he participated, as a founder and organizer in collaboration with Telefónica I+D and ElBulli Fundation, in the Gastronomy & Technology Days - a pioneer project in Europe aimed at dissemination and gastronomy-related debates between chefs, technologists, bloggers and communication media, for the purpose of developing the relationship between contemporary gastronomy and technology.

LUIZ HARA

LUIZ HARA - The London Foodie

 

Brazilian-born, this Italian-Japanese chef has been living in London for over 20 years. Found of good food, wine and travel, he has been a writer for The London Foodie since 2009.

Upon completing the studies in the investment banking field, he left the city to pursue his real passion - food. After exploring the Japanese cuisine in Tokyo, he returns to the United Kingdom and graduates from Le Cordon Bleu with a Grand Diploma. Currently, his Islington-based residence is headquarters of Japanese and French Supper Clubs.

His passion for wine brought him to earn a Wine and Spirit Education Trust Certificate, which inspired him to write about his experience with wine and spirits and matching food.

Flexibility of being a freelance professional has allowed him to dedicate more of his free time to travel, mainly gastronomic escapes.

SUZANA PARREIRA

SUZANA PARREIRA - Gourmet Amadores

 

Suzana Parreira lives in Lisbon with her husband and a black and white cat. She has been a professor and a researcher in the Communications Design field since 2000.

She comes from a family where a lot of importance is placed on cooking and everything is discussed at the dinner table. After many years of writing and talking about food at home and during her trips, as well as photographing it, she decided to share her passion.

In 2007 she created Gourmets Amadores, a blog which described adventures and pitfalls in the kitchen, gastronomic and travel experiences, as well as day-to-day life of her family. What started as mere sharing the pleasure of cocking has become an emotional space, which tells a story about her relation with the cuisine and everything surrounding the kitchen, gastronomic routes and places of interest.

MIGUEL PIRES

MIGUEL PIRES - Mesa Marcada

 

Born in Rio Maior. Former journalist, now a gastronomy writer or, as he calls it, " aligner of words about gastronomy in a form of a text".

In 2006 he created a Chez Pirez blog, which was interrupted in 2009 in order to dedicate the time to a collective blog, Mesa Marcada.

"Lisboa à Mesa - Guia Onde Comer. Onde Comprar" book was published in 2011.

Author of various publications, currently collaborated with Público newspaper, Up-Tap and Wine -Essência do Vinho magazines in Portugal, as well as Menu de Brasil and Cook_Ink in Italy.

EUWEN TEH

EUWEN TEH - A Rather Unusual Chinaman

 

A German-born man of Chinese parents, holder of Malasyan passport and proponent of English culture.

In 2009, bed stricken while recovering from a serious surgery, bored and motionless, he decided to write a blog in order to keep himself busy.

He started to write about cultural activities in London and realized that food was a topic that has attracted a lot of interest. Four years later, having visited over 300 restaurants, he continues writing a blog about London's restaurants and going on international gastronomy-related trips.
