Navia
From the residential area to the heart of Vigo’s beaches
Navia is synonymous with living next to the beach. One of the smallest parishes in Vigo offers one of the city’s biggest attractions: Samil beach and its spectacular seafront.
Until a few years ago, this was one of the less inhabited parishes, but the construction of a new residential area has attracted more than 6,000 people, mostly young families with children who are building a very active community. This small town has everything you might need: shops, supermarkets, tapas bars...
On the way to Samil beach, you’ll find the fabulous sculpture by Oliveira that represents the mythological kidnapping of Europe, as well as the Verbum Museum, or House of Words
The Devesa cruceiro, as well as the remains of the Muíño do Vento, one of the few examples of these constructions in southern Galicia.
Navia’s festivities in honour of San Paio are celebrated in late June; furthermore, its young community has added new events such as the Roman Festival in September.
