Beade Cherry Festival: the sweetest festival in Vigo

On June 13 and 14, the parish of Beade becomes a festive and gastronomic meeting point to celebrate one of its most emblematic products: cherries. The Beade Cherry Festival is one of the municipality’s most beloved traditional events and symbolically marks the beginning of summer in the city.

Agricultural tradition and local atmosphere

The festival originated in the 1980s, with the aim of highlighting local cherry cultivation and rural life in Beade, one of the parishes with the strongest agricultural tradition in the Vigo area. Over time, it has become a highly anticipated event for both residents and visitors.

During the main weekend, Beade comes alive with a festive atmosphere featuring tastings and sales of local cherries, contests and traditional games, concerts and street bands, as well as entertainment in the streets and activities for the whole family. One of the most characteristic moments is the social atmosphere around the cherry stalls, where locals and visitors share local products and tradition.

Beyond gastronomy, the Beade Cherry Festival represents Beade’s identity as “the cherry parish” within Vigo.

It is a celebration that brings together tradition, popular culture, and community pride, becoming one of the most authentic festivals in Vigo’s calendar.
