The best views of the Vigo Estuary

Candeán offers the best views of the Vigo Estuary. Two peaks flank this neighbourhood full of nature: the mountains of A Madroa and O Vixiador. Furthermore, Candeán preserves traces of prehistoric settlements in its petroglyphs and dolmens, as well as the remains of a medieval defensive construction. One of its most popular attractions is the Vigo Zoo, the only one in Galicia, and Candeán also happens to be where the Celta Vigo Football Club team trains every morning. Ask for directions to the A Madroa Stadium, it’s very close to the Zoo.

Tips and recommendations:

The cemetery’s cruceiro is one of the two that remain in the parish, and it dates back to the 19th century. Candeán also hosts a monumental dolmen known as Casa dos Mouros, in A Madroa.
